We are quickly approaching my favorite time of the year – Thanksgiving. It is a time when we gather with family and are reminded of the many blessings in our lives. As we approach the Thanksgiving season, allow me to share with you 10 Things I am Thankful For in 2020.
I am thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ.
In just a few days, I am preaching a message from Isaiah 53. As I have worked on that sermon, I have been reminded of how thankful I am that Jesus died in my place and for my sin, so that I could be reconciled to God. Hallelujah, What a Savior!
I am thankful for our missionaries.
God has given FBM some amazing missionaries. They work hard and sacrifice much to obey the call of God on their life. Their faithfulness is a powerful testimony.
I am thankful for our churches.
There are over 250 churches that partner with FBM and our missionaries. I am so thankful for their partnership in the Gospel. We could not do what we do without the support of these churches.
I am thankful for our individual ministry partners.
Our missionaries have over 1,500 individuals or families who partner with them. These are a tremendous gift from God.
I am thankful for Godly Pastors in other countries that our missionaries get to work alongside.
I am thankful for men like Pastor Andre, Pastor Isaac, Pastor Hassane, Pastor Ali, Pastor Joshua, Pastor Abraham, Pastor Victor, and so many others. Their example of faithfulness and dedication is a testimony to us all.
I am thankful for our FBM Board.
These 8 men devote their time, energy, and resources to serving our Lord and the missionaries of FBM. They truly love and care for our missionaries.
I am thankful for Faith Baptist Church of Winter Haven, FL.
This is my church. Faith Baptist Church founded FBM nearly 10 years ago and continues to support it. I love my church and am so thankful for our new pastor.
I am thankful for my family.
God has blessed me with a wonderful wife and four children. I could not do what I do without them. They are a unique gift from God.
I am thankful for my health.
This year has been like no other in my lifetime. I have been reminded that life is fragile. This reminds me to praise God for the good health He has given to me.
I am thankful for my country.
As I write this, the United States still has not finished our recent Presidential election. And yet, I am thankful. Where I live, though there are disagreements and strong opinions, there is no rioting or protesting in the streets. In many places around the world, Presidential elections are times of chaos and violence. While our election season has not been perfect, it is still a far cry from what other countries around the world experience.
Throughout this month, take some time to focus on your blessings. Be thankful. As I said above, I am thankful for YOU. Thank you for partnering with us. Thank you so much for your love and concern for our missionaries. Please let us know if we can serve you in any way. May God richly bless you with a wonderful Thanksgiving season.
