Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your faithful partnership with our missionaries. Your partnership in the Gospel is such an encouragement to all of us here at FBM. Hopefully, you are enjoying some nice fall weather wherever you are today.
September was a busy month as I made two different trips. First, I travelled to the Kokomo, Indiana, and worshipped at Bible Baptist Church. I was there with Joe & Amy Marshall as they reported to their sending church. I met with several pastors in the area as well.
Just a few days after returning from Indiana, I left for Oklahoma. While there, I visited the area where Walter Gomez, the founder of EMM, was born. It was such a joy to worship at Post Oak MB Church (pictured above), which is the church where Walter grew up and was baptized. Many of the folks at that church knew Walter and shared fond memories of him. While in OK, I also worshipped at Faith Bible Church in Lawton. Both of these churches have partnered with EMM since the beginning. As I visited these churches, I was reminded of what Paul wrote in Philippians:
“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”
Philippians 1:3-5
Looking ahead, there are a couple of exciting things planned for the rest of 2020. Be on the lookout for a Special Edition of The Rope – our quarterly newsletter. It should reach your mailboxes around the beginning of November. This Special Edition will highlight several projects that our missionaries are involved in around the world.
Finally, Giving Tuesday is quickly approaching. Giving Tuesday is the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year, that falls on Tuesday, December 1st. Traditionally, Giving Tuesday is a time when ministries and organizations present partnership opportunities to their constituents. This year, FBM will be conducting a special Giving Tuesday campaign throughout the month of November. This email and facebook campaign will focus on telling the stories of missionary care. These stories will take you behind the scenes to see what missionary care actually looks like. You will also be invited to partner with FBM to help us provide World-Class Missionary Care.
