Love is an interesting word. We live in a world that often overuses and misuses this word. It is used so frequently, that it has become trivialized. And yet, it is an important word. It is found repeatedly throughout the Scriptures. In 1 John 4:7, John writes, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.”
Here at FBM, we often say “We Love Missionaries!” We print that phrase on t-shirts and wristbands. This phrase is so simple and powerful at the same time. We really do love missionaries. We work hard to make sure that our missionaries KNOW that they are loved and also FEEL that they are loved.
At the same time, we do not only love our missionaries. We love the lost. Truly loving someone includes telling them that they are lost without Christ. Love includes helping someone with a physical or medical need. But, love does not stop there. Love must include helping someone with their spiritual needs.
At FBM, we exist to show love – love to our missionaries and love to the lost. What John wrote in 1 John 4:11 is so true, “if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” As you read this, ask yourself if you are showing love to those around you. May God help us all to demonstrate that we truly know God by the love that we show to one another.
Sarah Mincey Deploys
On Monday, September 20, Sarah Mincey, our newest FBM Missionary, will leave for Eastern Europe. It has been exciting to help Sarah prepare for the field where she will be serving. Please pray for her as she goes. Pray also for her parents and her church family. Pray that Sarah will show the love of Christ to everyone she meets.
Missionary Spotlight!
This month, I ask you to pray specifically for our Mali field. Our field director, Rich Marshall, has multiple work teams coming out to this month to help him work on the Mounzou Camp Project. Pray for good weather as they work and that God would enable them to accomplish all of their goals.
Additionally, pray for new career missionaries for the field of Mali. New missionaries are needed who will come alongside the existing Federation of Churches to assist them in planting new churches. Much of this assistance will need to be in the areas of well drilling and construction. Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Please pray with us!
Thank You!
Thank you for partnering with FBM and its missionaries. Your partnership in the Gospel is a wonderful demonstration of love. Please let us know if we can serve you in any way. May God richly bless you.
