Dear Friends,
From time to time, I have the privilege and joy of leading the congregational singing at my church. I love doing this and typically lead from the piano, where I can play and sing. Recently, I led my church in singing “The Power of the Cross,” a powerful song written by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend. I was overcome with emotion as I heard the congregation sing these words:
“This the pow’r of the cross:
Christ became sin for us,
Took the blame, bore the wrath;
We stand forgiven at the cross.”
I love the words of this song. It reminds me of what Christ did. He became sin for me. He took the blame that I deserved. He bore that wrath that was aimed for me. Christ did this so that I could “stand forgiven.” What a glorious truth! Hallelujah! What a Savior we have in Jesus!
Here at FBM, we are praising God for a wonderful visit from Ken & Sarah Beckley. In January, they travelled through Central Florida on their way back to Benin, West Africa. Since their visit, they have safely returned to Benin. Pray for Ken & Sarah as they get settled in Benin. They are returning to a different city and a different home. Pray that God would meet all of their needs.
Additionally, please pray for the following needs:
- The country of Mali is in much turmoil right now. Government elections have been delayed and this has caused other nations to place severe economic sanctions on the country. This has created hardships for many believers throughout the country. We have faced difficulties wiring funds to Mali. Please pray that this will all be resolved soon.
- Continue to pray for Comfort Jacobs in Nigeria as she grieves the homegoing of her husband David. Pray for the funeral service which is scheduled for March 18th. Please pray for me as I will traveling out for the service. Pray that I will be an encouragement to Comfort and her family. Pray that God will be honored through all that takes place.
- Pray for Tim and Janice Phillips in Niger. Lord willing, they will be coming home this summer for a time of furlough. Pray that God will provide someone to cover their absence in Niger.
Thank You!
